Notes on FreeCell
- FreeCell is apparently spelled “FreeCell”, and not “Free Cell”.
- Almost all FreeCell games are winnable. That personally makes it much more fun to play than regular (Klondike) solitaire, since you know going into a game that your skill is being tested much more than your luck.
- FreeCell—and solitaires in general—can be seen as a sort of entropy game: we take a disordered deck of cards, lay them out on a table, and With some added rules to make the game fun and interesting—no one plays 52-card pick-up for fun! try to put them back in order again—just to shuffle the deck and do it all over again. We’re having fun with playing with entropy.
- I sometimes try to rush to complete a column just so I can have a fifth free cell. Don’t try this. It’s dumb.
